WRIGHT DESIGN llc is a design consulting and production company based in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Led by James Allen Wright, we draw on his experience in design leadership and hands-on production to help businesses, product teams and brands develop concepts and review design proposals.
Our work spans creative direction, product development, branding, visual design, production design and fabrication. We collaborate with brands, agencies, production companies and in-house teams, with support shaped around each project's needs.
Leadership
James Allen Wright
Representative
James combines design leadership with practical experience in film, advertising, themed entertainment, spaces and products. His work with anicom Holdings has included serving as Head of Design, overseeing branding and visual direction, designing products and building an in-house design team.
After working as an artist at Walt Disney World, he moved to Tokyo Disneyland in 2000 and spent two years as an on-stage artist. International production collaboration includes VFX consultation and Japan-side production coordination for The Brighton Miracle.
He studied at UNC Chapel Hill's Radio, Television and Motion Picture Institute in 1992 and earned a BA in English and Communication from UNC Greensboro in 1996. In 2021, he completed MIT xPRO's Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production program, continuing to apply production design, fabrication and prototyping skills in practice.
